We are so thankful for the work our friends over at Bible Games Central are doing! They are creating games that are “fun and captivating” and “non-threatening platforms to open spiritual conversations.”
In my experience, these games do exactly that.
They are fun for all ages, and provide a great opportunity for families (or friends, or ministries!) to have spiritual conversations and provide intentional discipleship. You can see other reviews of their games here and here.
These 3 brand new games are unique, engaging & honestly – a lot of fun.
Emoji Bible Stories Card Game
While I played this game at home with my family (and it was a blast!), I think this game would make a great addition to Sunday School classrooms and children’s ministry spaces.
Emojis are not going away anytime soon – and this game incorporates universal symbols to teach kids timeless truths – Bible stories.
The different modes (including Match & Guess and Snap) are perfect for non-readers or kids unfamiliar with the Bible. The other modes are great for reviewing Bible stories and themes you’re teaching on! This game is a great review tool, time-filler and could be used to increase biblical literacy in a fun way.
The Good Shepherd Card Game
Full disclosure: I am not much of a “card game” person. I prefer other types of games – but this game was a win!
The instructions are incredibly simple and easy-to-follow (a big plus for me!), and the cards are colorful and also clear to understand.
This game is fast-paced enough you could play it quickly – to pass a quick window before bed, in a children’s ministry classroom while you’re waiting for pick-up, or when you’re pressed for time but want a meaningful connection – but also fun enough that you could play round after round!
Mission: Ends of the Earth Game
This game is fascinating – it is so creative and well put-together! Mission: Ends of the Earth is a game of strategy – and will definitely appeal to fans of games that require time and thought (think Catan & Risk, along with other games of that vein!). The goal of this game is to help your missionary get to their assigned village with the required resources.
It is definitely the most complex of the games we’ve played from Bible Games Central, but that makes it great for a games night with your preteens (or even teens!). It’s a great opportunity to discuss living “on mission”, what it looks like to participate in bringing God’s goodness to the world, and even what early missionaries looked like – in church history and Bible times!
I think this game would make a great Christmas gift for families with preteens or junior high students, or to place on the shelf of your preteen room in children’s ministry.
All the games that our friends over at Bible Games Central create are amazing – including the free ones. If you’re looking for Christmas games or some no-prep games for this week in children’s ministry, they’ve got you covered!
They’ve also been gracious enough to give blog readers a promo code for their shop. Until December 10, 2021, use the code EQUIP20 for 20% off these games or any others in the Bible Games Central Shop!
