Description
This low-cost, low-planning event is meant to walk kids through the “Stations of the Cross” in an age-appropriate & meaningful way, letting them experience “the Ultimate Easter Hunt!”
As children arrive, they will receive a map & bag to keep their items in. In small groups, they will rotate through 6 stations:
1. Palm Sunday (Make their own palm branches and/or crowns).
2. Last Supper (Taste bread & grape juice & use clay or play-doh).
3. The Garden (Create their own “garden cup”).
4. The Courthouse (Create a simple cracker or cookie snack & hear the story of Jesus’ arrest).
5. The Cross (Simple rubber-band art and a reminder that Jesus shows us God’s love!)
6. The Tomb (A “magic trick” to remind them that Jesus’ resurrection wasn’t magic – He really rose again!)
At each station, kids should receive a stamp or sticker on their map. At the end of the night, they receive a “What Does Easter Really Mean?” sheet to complete, and can exchange their map for some sort of treat – at your discretion, depending on your budget!
The supplies for this event are low-cost and many will already be at your church!
