I will openly confess that I am an “extra mom” when it comes to holidays and celebrations.

I have shared this information before, and I have no shame! I love celebrating different seasons & occasions – especially when we have opportunity to point our kids to Jesus in the midst of them.

I shared a little while ago on the blog about how we can make the season leading up to Easter significant for our families. I believe we can make Easter morning significant too – by including things in our kids’ Easter baskets & egg hunts that point them to Jesus!

Let me share with you a few of my favorites:

  1. Go Minno Subcription: My kids were gifted a “Minno Kids” subscription earlier this year by their grandparents – and we love it! Especially during the winter months, we have more screen time in my house than I care to admit – but having my kids choose a show on Minno means they are consuming content that points them towards Jesus! We watch a lot of Yancy’s Little Praise Party, What’s in the Bible?, and Boz the Bear these days. A fun way to gift this would be to print this Family Gardening Printable Pack from Minno, along with a pack of seeds & a card with the Minno info on it!
  2. Devotional Dippers: I purchased these from Christian Book earlier this year, and we’ve been working our way through the “Key Bible Words” set each night at suppertime. My kids LOVE being able to choose a “stick” to figure out what we are going to talk about! I did go through the set & take out some words I didn’t feel we were ready to tackle yet (Atonement & Hell for example – my kids are 2 & 4), but these are really fun – and you can customize them to the age of your family!
  3. God is Kind! Board Book: My littlest (2) LOVES these What’s in the Bible? Board Books! So do I. They are fun & easy to read, the colors are bright, and they teach really good theology. I picked up this “God Is Kind” one to add to our Easter basket & growing collection of these board books! I would recommend these for up to grade 1, and they have a great collection of family activity suggestions in the back of each book.

PS: I have gotten all of these board books at an AMAZING price on Book Outlet. They ship to USA & Canada, and you can get $5 off your first purchase with my referral link!
  4. Storybooks: Okay, I love a good story book! I will be the first to admit we have a “book problem” in our house. There are lots of fun Easter themed books out there, but sometimes finding ones that focus on Jesus that are age-appropriate and enjoyable to read is tough. There are 3 that I consistently recommend for Easter baskets:
–> Twas the Morning of Easter” by Glenys Nellist
–> Good News! It’s Easter” by Glenys Nellist
–> “Easter is Coming” by Tama Fortner
  5. Tiny Truths Illustrated Bible: I can’t tell you how much I love this Bible. We have made our way through it entirely, and it’s still the Bible my kids pick up the most! Plus, they have some amazing Easter activities you can download for free to include in your Easter celebrations or baskets.
  6. Fruit of the Spirit Fun!: I always think that Easter and spring is a great time to introduce kids to the fruit of the Spirit. With spring in the air, it’s a great time to talk about the fruit of the Spirit in our lives. I always include a resource about the fruit of the Spirit in Easter or spring recommendations, but this year I have two new favorites to share with you:
–> “Fruit Full” by my friend Christie Thomas: A lot of the recommendations in this guide are for little kids, but this one is great for all ages! Your family will love working through this approachable and theologically sound devotional together. Christie also has some great accompanying resources at her website!
–> Fruit of the Spirit Coloring Mat” from His Kids Company: The amount of coloring books we go through in our house is unbelievable – so I love the idea of reusable coloring mats – especially when they are as beautiful & biblically based as this one!
  7. Playdoh Eggs: Okay, I am fully aware playdoh isn’t inherently godly – but it is a great discipleship tool! Instead of loading your kids up with JUST chocolate and candy, throw a few of these playdoh eggs in their basket or hunt too! Let them have fun with it, and then, check out this free Playdoh Lesson from my friend Corinne to make the Easter story come alive with their new gifts!

PS. These playdoh eggs also make a great gift to share with kids at the end of our new “Ultimate Easter Hunt” event for your church!

We hope this gift guide can serve you well as you prepare for Easter with your family – or share these ideas with the families you serve!
